Today is Independence Day (cue the fireworks, the Souza marches, the hot dogs and apple pie).
Today is independence day (cue the tears goodbye, the gassing up of the RV, the hitting of the proverbial road).
Independence and freedom...how wonderful that we live in a country where a family a four plus a rather oversized fuzzy Golden Retriever have the independence and freedom to take up a new life in a not-so-far-off but very potato-ey land; that we have an unalienable right to pursue happiness in dreams out of state (and perhaps out of mind?); a country where we have choices, good and bad, large and small, sane and crazy.
Thank you to our forefathers and those who serve our country protecting our independence and freedom.
In America, today, and every day, is INDEPENDENCE day.
